You need more than Herbs for Anxiety.

I am a firm believer in using herbs for anxiety to help you quickly recover your balance and return to a healthier state. However, just as medication is not the answer with their side effects, herbs for anxiety are not a permanent cure, but rather an important step along the way.

Taking herbs for anxiety need to be accompanied with relaxation techniques as well as the search for resolution to the root cause of your anxiety. For each of us this may be different, some being more obvious than others. Let’s take a look at the following areas of our life:

Work:-

Are you in a stressful job, or have problems at work that are causing you anxiety? You may dislike your job or feel trapped in it because of other issues such as financial needs.

Home Life:-

Are there problems at home? Looking after a sick relative, struggling in a relationship or maybe you are in an abusive or damaging relationship. Whether one of these or something else causing you anxiety at home over a long period of time.

Financial:-

You may, like so many people are doing at the moment, be struggling with financial worries. Whether it is not able to earn enough or maybe to find work at all, this type of stress is very common for long term anxiety. With most people it takes a long time to get into that much financial difficulty and probably even longer to recover from.

Life Style:-

This includes your diet; with modern processed foods many of us are not getting a well balanced diet, to keep the body healthy. Also with the stresses people feel themselves under many are using alcohol as a means to relax. Unfortunately the level of consumption rises rapidly to damaging the body, causing health issues in the body as well as the mind.

You should also look at sleep patterns; are you getting enough sleep and regular hours? Just as important is exercise to stimulate the body as well as relaxation time for you to clear your mind of worries and release the tension in your muscles.

What then?

The causes of your anxiety maybe more subtle then these, but whatever it is you should try to find the root cause. It may very well be the case that you cannot change the situation at this time, but at least you can now focus on trying to ease the anxiety it is causing. You may still use an herbal anxiety remedy or herbs for anxiety say in the form of a tea, to help you reduce your level of anxiety and help you deal with your everyday life.

You can look into different herbs for anxiety to see which suits your needs. For example St. John’s Wort is not just used for anxiety, but also mild depression and sleep disorders.

Hopefully in the long term you can reduce, minimise or even eliminate the cause of your anxiety, in which case your herbs for anxiety together with relaxation techniques will lead you to a permanent cure.

July 28th, 2010 -- Posted in herbs for anxiety | No Comments »

I believe I have a lot of anxiety that I have been trying to deal with for years now. I want to try a natural herb for it first, since I don’t have health insurance at the moment, and I’m also a little fearful of the strong drugs that doctors prescribe. What’s the names of some? thx

Best herb for anxiety? Also, lithium orotate?

July 26th, 2010 -- Posted in herbs for anxiety | 6 Comments »

I am currently on a mood stabilizer for bipolar 2. Lamictal, 100mg a day. I have mild anxiety that can at times get severe. I don’t want to add another drug unless absolutely necessary. Been doing some research, and came up with two herbs that may be able to help. Passion Flower, and Valerian. What, in your opinion, would be the best one to take?

Also, does anyone have experiences or advice for lithium orotate? I am thinking about adding it to my daily regimen. I know you are going to say talk to my doctor, but none of them are supportive of me taking herbs.

Thanks in advance!
Wow, how nice, if you would have actually read the question, you would have read that none of my doctors support me taking herbs, they have told me to not take them at all, with no real explanation.

Also, I don’t look to Yahoo Answers as my definite source for information. I use it as an aid in my quest to find an answer. I know to take the answers on here with a grain of salt.

Isn’t Yahoo Answers about sharing experiences and giving advice?
Thanks Herb Goddess for wanting to help!

Personally, I would love to get off all the medications, if that were an option. That’s why I’m looking at the lithium orotate.

I usually experience anxiety when I am in small spaces and around lots of people. My heart will start racing, palms will get sweaty, and I’ll get really, really scared. I am looking for something I could take either everyday, or before I would be exposed to the above situations. Thanks so much!

What are some good safe anti-anxiety herbal suppliments..help with quiting smoking.?

July 21st, 2010 -- Posted in herbs for anxiety | 14 Comments »

I am preparing to quit smoking for the 100th time.
I feel the thing that has failed me before is not treating my anxiety.
I am already a somewhat anxious person and I feel that at present time the nicotine helps alleviate my general anxiety. Without smoking the anxiety is 10 times worse. (In the past attempts I didn’t really crave a cigarette but the anxiety was unbearable).
So I wanting to prepare by maybe getting some anti-anxiety herbs in my system before quitting.
Any good recommendations?
(((Jenae))) oh dear how I wish. :)
I wrote a thesis level paper on that suppliment. LOL I was on the suppliment and still aced the paper.
I have kids and all now so I can’t go there!
Why don’t they just legalize it already…:(
